Cat Sitter Truly Has The World's Worst Timing

High on the adulation that I am receiving today due to this being the one-year anniversary of Cat Sitter in the City (thus far, five readers have used the comments form to send congratulatory messages to me!), I made a bold move, contacting Angela Kinsey's publicist and requesting an interview with the talented actress, who plays The Office's cat-obsessed Angela Martin.

I was confident that Angela would want to do the interview. Honestly, what star would not want to be featured on Cat Sitter in the City? But a few hours after I submitted my request, I received a response from Angela's publicist Tess Finkle, thanking me for reaching out but informing me that Angela is not available at this time.

I replied, thanking Tess for the quick response (it was nice that she got back to me so promptly—let alone at all—given that I don't have the heft of, say, Entertainment Weekly in my favor) and telling her to feel free to contact me in the future if Angela would like to raise her profile among her cat-loving fans.

Cut to: I'm Googling Angela to see what she is up to these days, and I find a story on People.com, published late this afternoon, revealing that Angela and her husband of eight years, writer Warren Liebertstein, just announced today that they've separated. "Angela and Warren are taking some time apart to figure out what is best for [daughter] Isabel and for their relationship," Finkle tells People.com.

I am mortified that I submitted my interview request today of all days. Could my timing have been any worse?
