This Video Is So Cute Your Head Will Explode

Snow Day

Charlotte enjoyed looking at the first snowfall of the season this morning.
She was hoping to see some birds sitting in her favorite tree...
...but they weren't there today. I guess they stayed in because it was a snow day.
Jinga, the cat who lives next door, stopped by this morning to bid us farewell. She and her family moved into a new house today. I will miss Jinga, but I think she will be happy in her new place.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, CSitC Readers!

I am thankful for so many things, including my sweet little cat Charlotte.

Animal Photographer Extraordinaire

Aren't these pictures amazing? They were taken by a commercial photographer named Sharon Montrose who specializes in animal portraiture.

FYI: She sells prints of her work through her Etsy shop.

Believe it or not, I don't want to buy one of her cat photos. I am more interested in her shots of...
...baby raccoons...
...baby deer...
...and baby squirrels.

I Am In Love With The West Elm Sheepskin Pouf

If this West Elm sheepskin pouf wasn't so ridiculously expensive, I would buy it for my cat Charlotte to lounge upon. Originally priced at $349, it is now on sale for $299.

A Schnoodle, A Cat and A Laptop

My cat Charlotte makes it difficult for me to write. Our legendary battles over the laptop have been thoroughly chronicled here on Cat Sitter in the City.

Now Chico is getting into the act.
"You can reach most of the keys, can't you?" Chico asks.
"If he can put his head on the keyboard, then I can knead your stomach!""Hey, get off her! She can't type with you kneading her stomach!" Chico insists.
"Yeah, like she can type with your schnoodle head on her laptop," Charlotte responds.

"Mommy, you don't mind me kneading your stomach while you work, do you?"
"Of course she doesn't. She can't resist my cuteness."

Charlotte Hosts A Dinner Party

My cat Charlotte really wanted to see her friend Lil' C, so she had a dinner party on Saturday night.
Lil' C, who is 8, was so happy to see Charlotte, and Charlotte was so happy to see Lil' C, who spoiled her with chin rubs.
Lil' C brought her stuffed cat Chatounette so that she could meet Charlotte. "Hello, Charlotte. I'm Chatounette! Lil' C bought me because I look like you!"
"Wow. Is my head really that big?" Charlotte wondered.
After Charlotte and Chatounette got to know each other, it was time to eat. "Yeah, yeah. I'll take that one!" Charlotte said.

This Birthday Cake Is The Cat's Meow!

Today is Whoopi Goldberg's birthday, and she was surprised with the best birthday cake ever on The View. Knowing how much Whoopi loves her cat Oliver, Duff Goldman of Ace of Cakes and his crew made her a cake that looked a little sloppy so it appeared as though Oliver had nibbled on it.
As regular readers of Cat Sitter in the City will recall, my cat Charlotte (pictured above) recently helped herself to my birthday cake when I wasn't looking. What is it with cats and cake?
Whoopi's cake took five days to make and includes layers of carrot and chocolate cake.
The cat isn't edible, by the way. I couldn't quite make out what was said when Duff was asked what the cat was made of, but he wisely noted, "You make an animal, you don't really want to cut its head off and eat it. It's your cat."

Cat Sitter In The City Purchases A Work Of Art

I somehow stumbled across artist Helen Dardik's Orange You Lucky blog yesterday and fell in love with her colorful illustrations. Many of them feature cats, so I made my way over to her Etsy site and purchased this "Make Time for Tea" print. Isn't it adorable?

A Suitor Comes A Callin' For My Cat Charlotte

Charlotte was sunning herself in the kitchen yesterday when a visitor appeared at the door to the deck...
"Hello. I'm Rolf. Is anybody home?"
"Come out, come out, wherever you are."
"HELLLLOOOOOOO!"
"I heard you. You don't have to shout. What do you want?"
"I want to love you. PYT. Pretty young thing..."
"You've got to be kidding me."

The Whole Kitten And Caboodle

Like many felines, my cat Charlotte loves cardboard boxes. Every time I order something from Amazon or Zappos, Charlotte lays claim to the cardboard boxes my purchases arrive in. But I hate having cardboard boxes strewn all over the apartment, so I think I just might invest in Caboodle corrugated (by the way, I just noticed that corrugated is spelled wrong in the image next to this post, and it is driving me crazy!) cardboard habitats for cats. I stumbled upon the Caboodle site this morning and was impressed. You can stack Caboodles, which are made of heavy gauge corrugated cardboard, to create different structures, and you can also customize them with your own art work.

This Is Why Cat Owners Can't Sleep Late

Moz' mom posted this "Life With A Cat" video on Facebook today. It makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Meet Japan's Famous Hatch-chan

How gorgeous is this cat? His name is Hatch-chan, and he writes a blog that is incredibly popular in Japan. Despite the fact that I can't understand a word of it, I plan to keep visiting his blog just so I can look at the beautiful photos of Hatch-chan. This former stray cat actually has his own line of merchandise and has appeared on Japanese talk shows.

Don't Let Them Eat Cake

I left the kitchen for one minute and returned to find my cat Charlotte eating my birthday cake!
When I confronted Charlotte, she said, "Sorry. I thought the cake was for everyone."

Then she quickly added, "Happy birthday, Mommy. I love you...even if you won't share you birthday cake with me."

Happy Birthday, Hello Kitty!

Sanrio's Hello Kitty turns 35 today. According to her bio on the Sanrio site, Hello Kitty was born on November 1 and lives in London with her parents and her twin sister Mimmy. To be honest, I think she's a little old to still be living with her parents, but maybe her cut of the Hello Kitty product line profits is a lot smaller than I thought.

Anyway, today is also my birthday. Could it be a coincidence that Hello Kitty and Cat Sitter in the City share the same birthday? I don't think so!
